David Deaton - Mid-Michigan Medicare

There's a remarkable individual whose journey weaves together a diverse tapestry of experiences, each contributing uniquely to his approach in helping others. Today, we're spotlighting David Deaton, the founder and owner of Mid-Michigan Medicare, whose rare blend of technical expertise from his Navy days and deep empathy in ministry shapes his exceptional service in healthcare.

David's story begins in the disciplined and detail-oriented world of the Navy. After graduating from Walled Lake Central High in 1992, he served three years, achieving an E3 rank. Specializing in optics and lenses, he developed an eye for detail and precision. These traits, so vital in the world of Navy optics, now play a crucial role in navigating the complexities of Medicare plans. David's ability to finely tune into each client’s unique needs is as critical in healthcare as precise calibration is in optics.

After serving his country, David embraced a different kind of calling. He pursued a degree in Ministry and Theology from Great Lakes Christian College, reflecting his deep commitment to supporting and guiding others. This chapter of his life not only augmented his empathy but also opened unexpected doors. It was during this time, through a serendipitous encounter at church, that David ventured into the world of health insurance. Melding his natural ability to connect with people with his newfound mission, David embarked on a path that eventually led him to establish Mid-Michigan Medicare.

Being a single father to three children, Abigale, Juda, and Evelyn, and rekindling a college romance with Faith, a nurse at McLaren Hospital, David’s life is a blend of personal commitments and professional aspirations. His family story is one of love, demonstrating his ability to balance the demands of a business with the needs of a family.

In his quest to ensure every Medicare beneficiary has access to knowledgeable local advice, David applies the precision he learned in the Navy and the empathy he cultivated in the ministry. His belief in personalized, local service drives his mission to make quality Medicare guidance the norm, not the exception.

David's hobbies and interests reflect his personality. From golf and jiu-jitsu to playing guitar and running, he embraces a variety of activities that keep him balanced. His unique claim to fame as a national whirly ball competitor mirrors his ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

This Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), ending in December, David has set a bold goal: to receive 10 direct referrals from our group members. It's an ambitious target, but if anyone can achieve it, it's David. His determination and skill set, ranging from optics to ministry, from whirly ball to guitar, all contribute to his unique approach to guiding seniors through the Medicare maze.

Let’s support David in his goal. By referring clients to him, not only are we helping grow his business, but we're also ensuring that more people receive the clear, expert guidance they deserve when it comes to Medicare. Here’s to David Alen Deaton, a man who brings clarity to complexity, compassion to his work, and commitment to his community – a true "Top Dawg" in our group.
